SF | The Photo Hotspots♥

Hii :)

This is part 2 of my San Francisco mini series, so I'm guessing that because you're here you're some what interested in my thoughts aha. Enjoy! x

I find no objection to turning Hollywood into a suburb of San Francisco, the most photogenic city in the world.

I saw this quote online and immediately thought about how much I agreed with it and thought it was true. I mean I'm sure no one would disagree to the fact that it is a beautiful city, but the phrase about Hollywood was what I found most interesting.
If you've been reading here for a few months you may or may not know that I did happen to visit LA, and stay in Universal City on this trip too, and the atmospheres were completely different but definitely had this amazing photogenic vibe.

I wanted to share some of my favourite photo hotspots from San Francisco, some of which are actually labelled, some that I found to be particularly stunning and amazing for views.

Fisherman's Wharf | Pier 39

Throughout the top layer of pier 39 there was several spots labelled 'photo spot' which I obviously took the opportunity to take a photo at but several other spots in the fisherman's wharf area along the embarcadero were equally as stunning therefore this is my first favourite photo hotspot of San Fran.

The Golden Gate Bridge

Despite being quite possibly the most popular tourist spot of the whole city and the most photographed part swell the actual views from the bridge are insane. Being miles away from the city itself you have an amazing view of the whole bay, alcatraz and the skyscrapers covering the city landscape. I could't believe how beautiful it was from there, I wanted to stay there all day but luckily the walk back was just as stunning to see.

Marine Drive

This road is an extremely popular tourist route to the golden gate bridge so you'll find that it is filled with so many people, but it's not crazy. This road runs from the end of Crissy Field all along to the bridge and has the most amazing views of the bridge itself and the bay. After walking along the bridge we sat on the rock wall next to this road with our feet hanging into the water and it was so amazing and relaxing, definitely one of my favourite days, despite getting seriously burnt, whoops! It was so sunny everywhere else in the city but it was crazy, clouds covering the half of the bridge but so cool.

Lombard Street | Top

The views from the top of Lombard Street were insane, despite the fact the street itself was gorgeous filled with various colourful flower beds, the view in the distance was so pretty. I mean I can't believe I didn't even imagine it, it's not like I didn't walk up mount everest to get there aha, you could see the bay and parts of the city with Alcatraz right in the centre standing proud. So many people were stood here so it was incredibly difficult to get photos but I tried my best.

Alcatraz Island

Even though the island of Alcatraz is incredibly eerie and mysterious it is flooded with beautiful plants and wildlife but the views itself are worth the trip as well let alone the incredibly history the island holds. The whole city including both bridges are shining away in the distance across the turquoise bay. It's incredible to think what once was a horrible island is now stunning to be on and you'd find it hard to believe what it once was. The views from the island back to the ferry building were exactly the same, and considering I hate boats I really enjoyed this short little trip back, I stood right outside on the top deck and nearly got blown away but it was amazing to see! This was a really cloudy, cold day but it did brighten up in the evening :(

So those are my top 5 photo hotspots of San Francisco! I'll see you with part 3 soon.

Molly x
